HAN Comms client, Generator, together with Newcastle Tech Trust have joined forces to stage a series of workshops to help tech startups take their ideas to the next level.

The series aims to address the needs of early-stage, high-growth technology companies and will cover key topics such as customer development, understanding and raising investment, getting your first 1,000 users, building an MVP and cashflow forecasting.

Over the coming months there will be six sessions held at venues across the North East, with the first set to take place on Monday 17th September at PROTO in Gateshead.

This first installment – Startups 101– will focus on tried and tested methods to identify market opportunities and target customers.

Speakers include former startup entrepreneur, Tristan Watson, CEO of Ignite, and Jo York, co-founder and COO of Ricochet and co-founder of WatchWithMe.

Places at the events are free for early stage tech start-up founders from North East England*, thanks to the European Regional Development Fund.

CEO at Generator, Jim Mawdsley, said: “We are thrilled to bring North East businesses a unique series of tech workshops that will cover topics such as building an MVP right through to what investors are looking for.

“We have been working more and more in the tech space so teaming up with Newcastle Tech Trust was a no-brainer. The team there have tons of big tech experience that attendees will be able to draw upon. We have some inspiring speakers locked in already, so they’re bound to prove popular.

“Working within the digital sector over the past few years through Digital Union has really exposed us to the pain points of both digital and tech businesses, this series aims to overcome those barriers and help businesses get to that next level. All going well, this could be the start of a long-term collaboration.”

Tristan added: “Newcastle Tech Trust is delighted to be working with Generator to provide much needed support to early stage founders in the region. We know from personal experience how hard it can be when you’ve had that world-changing idea to take those first steps into building a business, and these workshops are designed to give everyone the skills they need to launch a startup.”

Spaces at all workshops are limited and the first session, which takes place at 6pm on Monday 17th September at PROTO, is filling up fast. To secure your place, visit: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/startups-101-powered-by-tech-trust-and-generator-tickets-48915154544
