Luxury British clothing brand, Glencroft Countrywear, has launched an online retail store with the help of Manchester-based digital agency startup, Huddle Digital.
Based in Clapham, in the North Yorkshire dales, the small family-run clothing business has expanded into consumer retail, having spent over 30 years focusing on national and international wholesale trade.
To support the move into direct-to-consumer online sales, Glencroft appointed Huddle Digital to advise on the firm’s new digital strategy which led to the build and management of a new ecommerce website with a secure online store for customers.
Speaking of the move into consumer retail, Edward Sexton, Partner at Glencroft Countrywear said: “Given our long history as a business operating in the production of high quality British sheepskin, tweed and wool clothing, we knew there was strong consumer demand. However, having focused our business on wholesale retail, what we didn’t have was the website infrastructure to support this.
“After hosting and managing a few websites over the years, I understood the need for experienced website design experts and was recommended Huddle Digital by a fellow ecommerce business.”
Working with Glencroft to understand their vision for the future of the business, Huddle built and launched the new website, and worked with the British wool and sheepskin specialists to explore their wider strategy for digital growth.
Tom Parson, Co-Founder and Client Services Director at Huddle Digital explains: “After talking to Edward about his aims for the website and wider business, we were keen to be the agency that made these a reality. We took the site from initial concepts through to project launch, keeping Edward informed throughout the process.”
To ensure the long term commercial success of the website, Glencroft subsequently appointed Huddle as their ongoing digital partner to help drive traffic into the new website.
“Huddle’s hosting and ongoing digital support means I have piece of mind that my website is continually looked after and developed, allowing me to concentrate on growing my business. I’m looking forward to working closely with them in the future,” concluded Sexton.
“It’s great that Glencroft recognise the need for continual development of their digital presence. With an increasing amount of shopping being done online, it is crucial that your website keeps pace with the growth of your business. To refine and improve a website based on customer research, market trends and technologies, is vital to stay ahead of the competition,” concluded Parson.
The website launched in July 2018. For more information about Glencroft Countrywear, visit the new site www.glencroftcountrywear.co.uk.
